About US
Ronde CC was founded in 2011. We are based in Stockbridge, Edinburgh.
Our aim
The purposes of the Club are to promote, support and develop the amateur sport of Cycling (of all disciplines) in Edinburgh and surrounding regions with community participation in the same area. We propose to offer a positive and supportive cycling community in which members may develop their riding. Ronde Cycling Club is a modern club which aims to be friendly, inclusive and diverse. It is a Club for everyone; our mission is to provide an environment that inspires members to get the most from their riding.
Giving back
We promote and attend events that help promote active travel and safety for all. We’ve had members get involved in community events to encourage cycling, and helped charities with cargo bike deliveries!
Something for everyone
We have members take part in everything from social rides to national level racing. Whatever your goal, whether it’s to ride your longest ride, or to race with others, you’re likely to find someone who has done it!
Welfare
The Club has a Welfare Officer, whose role is to ensure that all club members continue to enjoy the club as they should, by being the first point of contact for any and all queries, concerns and comments.
All correspondence is treated in confidence and information will never be passed on without your consent. However please bear in mind that if investigation and action is required to be undertaken, the Welfare Officer will need to share details with the executive committee.
The Ronde CC Hall of Fame
The Hall of Fame contains the list of previous club Chairs, along with award winners and the current committee members
The Committee
Ronde is a club run by its members.
The committee are elected at the club AGM each year. They are ordinary club members just like you, and they spend some of their free time looking after the voluntary tasks needed to keep the club running smoothly. Any club member can be elected to the committee, and any club member can volunteer their help on an ad hoc basis.
Here are some of the things the committee spend our time on:
Regular meetings to discuss upcoming events and any issues to help make the club run better
Planning, promoting and organising group riding training days twice a year
Organising epic rides, velodrome sessions and other social events
Administering membership subscriptions and handling club finances
Looking after communications to our members (the club website, the club Facebook page, and our email list)
Ronde CC have always operated a ‘can do’ attitude, so we encourage members to organise events on their own initiative. We’re a big club now, so we are encouraging people to get stuck in rather than wait for the committee to take the lead. Just keep us in the loop.
HOW TO CONTACT US
If you have a suggestion for the committee, or an issue you would like us to discuss, just send an email to rondecc@gmail.com. There is a lot of traffic on the club Facebook page, so a post there is not a reliable way of reaching us. We’ll try to discuss urgent items at the Executive Committee (Chair, Secretary, Treasurer and Ride Captain) but some items may need to wait until the next regular committee meeting. Committee meetings are open to all members, but let us know in advance if you plan to come so we can make sure there is enough room.
